Bio

Born in the Midwest, Andy Scheer honed his songwriting and performing in the vast flat lands of Indiana and compiled somewhat of an arsenal of songs about life, love and the way that all things are being made new.

After watching the “Blues Brothers” in his teen years he became fascinated with the guitar and lived and breathed the music of guitar legends like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and John Scofield. Early on he dabbled in songwriting but realized he had no one to sing the songs he was writing. Being encouraged by a local musician to just “see what your voice can do,” he began singing in the shower and the car to see if singing was even a possibility. It turns out that the simple challenge revolutionized the way he approached music.

After realizing his skills as a vocalist and songwriter and seeing the way the music he wrote and performed resounded with his listeners he decided to jump headlong into the singer/songwriter world with all of his musical influences in tow.

In 2010 he moved from Indiana to Atlanta for Grad School. It was at this point that he effectively put his music career and songwriting on an indefinite hold. But like trying to run from your shadow, he couldn’t bury the musician in him. And with a fire in his bones and in a brief moment of either serendipity or providence, he left Grad School and started compiling what is the War & Weather EP.

With his powerful and passionate voice, honest lyrics, he sings into your world in all of its complexities, triumphs and brokenness.
